GOLDMINE Link: The Japan Forum

WOW

I have a new favorite (or tie) link for my ongoing research of Japanese culture/society:
http://www.tjf.or.jp/deai/contents/teacher/mini_en/mini_top.html

I haven’t actually dug very deeply in the root of the site, but I think the link sits under a high school student site and is aimed at teachers. The mini encyclopedia is way too cool. The photo galleries alone make it priceless because I need to first visualize things before putting anything to text. (I’m sure not all the information is up-to-date to 2006, but it should be darn close.)

Oh, the TJF site also has a searchable photo data bank, which might be quite useful:

Well, I’ll just go back and read some more. I like pretty pictures. ^_^;

Yes, still working on 1.7. Having difficulty dealing with another dialogue tree, so I’m thinking of cutting out a character or two.

      Maybe people who are visiting or even planning on living in Japan for a little while might find such things useful. ;D I plan on posting the actual appendix after part 1 is finished, I suppose. Ta.

    But . . . don’t cut any of the interesting characters, okay? Leave Yukino, and Haruka, and Nari cause she’s cool, an’ Reito since the way you do him is neat, or Mai, or course Shizuru and Natsuki, or any other character that was in Mai Hime or has been in your fic so far. If you were planning on cutting Mao Tse-tung from your fic, that would be okay, since I’m not emotionally invested in him as either a character or a communist dictator. Alright? Alright. :D

      LOL, I meant cutting a character or two just for this particular dialogue I’m working on. I’m telling you, having Mai, Natsuki, Aoi, Chie, and NAO–ALL TALKING AT ONCE–is kicking my ass and pretty much impossible at the level of skill I’m at, I think. So I’m going to cut Aoi and Chie out this time (sorry, Aoi/Chie fans). I mean, just working in Nao herself is… kicking my ass. Crep.

      Mao… ROFL. :P
